After the St Judes Day Storm, it was easy to fear the worst from a lake venue that is surrounded by trees. Then it seemed our worst fears were a reality with pictures of the Tea Shed obscured by a collapsed tree (pictured) & a similar story with the Toilet Block. Amazingly, the damage looking worse than it actually was. The Tea shed was just missed by the heavy parts of the tree & although the Toilet Block took a direct hit, the roof held & damage was kept to a minimum.
There was also a sizeable amount of debris that had landed in the lake itself. I am pleased to say, that with just two mornings work, the determined Scale Members have cleared both of the buildings, the lake & surrounding areas of debris.
My thanks to David Brumstead & David Petts for the pictures.
