La Curieuse - Part 7

​At this point the hull is pretty well complete. The next job will be to construct the masts with booms and spars. That I'll do in real time ie as I do them. Just hope that I get it right. In the meantime, some pics for your interest :
Pic 1 : This is an extended "grub screw" spanner that I in fact made a number of years ago.  It enables easy access to rudder horns and also to those deep down flexible motor linages.
Pic 2 & 3 : show the tool being used on this model's rudder and motor couplings. Deck side the access hole is covered by the binnacle under shaft. The hole on the aft hull side looks like an engine exhaust.
Pic 4 : shows a collet to stop the rudder shaft rising into the hull.
Pic 5 : the basically finished hull.
