Just for interest I attach a pic of the different tubing that I use to carry the operating cord from the servo to the sails on my models.
The point is that this method can be used to "motorise" items like gun turrets rotation and elevation as well as deck mounted cranes and anything else you can think of. Two tubes in the latter cases will be necessary to run from opposite sides of a servo on a "push pull basis".
The blue tube (which I have never used ) is the outer sleeve of the white tube which is also hollow. Both originate in the model aircraft world for flying surfaces control. The white tube is easily bent with a hair dryer and which I have used extensively on my larger sailing models.  The two hollow brown tubes I discovered in garden nurseries and are meant to be used as ties for plants.
