On Sunday, the work crew sucessfully removed all of the buoys & other obstacles, that make up the scale steering course, from the lake. In addition, all of the rope network beneath the surface of the water was also removed. This was no easy task, as due to the lovely weather we have been enjoying of late, the ropes were down rather deep. A big shout out goes to John Elliott for volunteering to get wet on this one. I'm not sure if he could have actually got any wetter if he had of fallen in! The rope removal was done for two reasons, firstly to check on the condition of the rope & secondly to facilitate the removal of dangerous overhanging trees & branches from the lake area. The Farmer is going to organise the removal of the trees & branches. Anything overhanging can now be cut down, dropped into the water & dragged out safely without causing any damage to our scale course & rope system. |
