We battled the elements somewhat this weekend at the Essex Country Show at Barleylands Farm, Billericay.
The Southend Club once again hosted the event offering a more structured on-the-water display time system throughout both days, which even the rain failed to entirely ruin. This year there was displays of Scale, Fast Electric, Club 500 races & Marblehead Yacht races. Unfortunately due to the weather, there was a very low turnout from the general public, so not many people got to see the display.
We managed to look a little more dangerous in the Club 500 racing, but the Southend boats still took all of the honours come presentation time. I think some more tweaking & fine tuning to be done over the winter & maybe we can get them next year! On a positive note, thanks to Peter Revill & his new security system, nothing got stolen from our stand this year.
